The Business Management Traineeship at Fluor was the perfect opportunity for me as a recent graduate in Construction Management to start developing my career. I embarked in this rotational program in September 2017 and since then the journey has been full of opportunities to grow, expand my network and to better understand the megaprojects Fluor is involved in.
This traineeship provides the perfect blend for career and personal development, and you are given the opportunity to work on challenging tasks and to attend a variety of training sessions and courses for developing your technical and soft skills.
On my first assignment in the Estimating department, I support the preparation of home office estimates for proposals, in close cooperation with the proposals team and the sales department. This assignment has given me the opportunity not only to better understand the job of a commercial estimator but also to develop my commercial thinking and to see the reasoning behind different commercial strategies.
Life at Fluor is exciting, you are working in a diverse and multicultural environment and you get the chance to meet and work with people from all over the world. Fluor works on big projects in the Energy & Chemicals industry all over the world, and the great challenges that come with these projects make work exciting and different every day. The traineeship consists of at least one assignment on a construction site, so I am definitely looking forward to what my future in Fluor will bring and on the experiences to follow.
