If you had to describe what working at P&G is like in three words what would they be?

Why did you apply to P&G?

When I came into contact with P&G, at one of the FMCG recruitment events at my University (RSM – Erasmus university Rotterdam), I felt a good match with the people working for P&G and the company culture they represented. Besides that I really enjoy working for a company that has such a large impact on the every day life of people with their broad variety of products.

What do you do in your role on a day-to-day basis?

I am the Strategic Sales intern to the NL Drugstore team. Most of my days are divided into working on long-term strategic projects and understanding and fulfilling the needs and challenges of our customers in order to drive P&G and the customer’s business forward. I work closely with numerous disciplines within P&G, be it Marketing, Category managers, Finance, Shopper psychology and Sales managers.

What has your training and development been like during your time as an intern at P&G?

The trainings are extremely motivating and useful. As an intern you follow exactly the same trainings and development courses as colleagues that have been working at the company for years. This internship will challenge you to outperform yourself every single day. Through the trainings and mentoring you will most definitely be handed the tools to do so!

How is the work environment/culture at P&G?

The people working at P&G do so with great pride and ambition. You see this all around you and the colleagues are very supportive to one another. Besides that, P&G upholds very high standards when it comes to delivering results. All the employees strive to get the best out of themselves and out of the company day after day.

How have you been challenged at P&G?

From day one you get a significant amount of accountability and ownership. This is a bit frightening at first however, due to the support of all the colleagues, you are soon more confident. This helps you to make decisions that matter and ensures you improve your skills.

What advice would you give to somebody considering applying to P&G

Try to get in touch with many people from P&G such that you can see if the company culture fits you. Besides that, it is important to understand what you would like to do in your day-to-day job and where you want to be in five years from now. There are many disciplines at P&G so if the company culture attracts you be sure you get in touch with people from the departments you fancy most. P&G will empower you to make the most out of your career so if you want to be a high performer feel very welcome to apply at P&G!
